Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen were defeated by Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in the fourth iteration of “The Match.”
After being down two holes early, Mahomes battled back to give his team the lead by the eighth hole. Brady sunk a clutch putt on the tenth hole in order to tie things back up. They kept it competitive all the way down to the last hole, but Rodgers and Brady put themselves in a better position to win with everything tied up.
It didn’t help that Allen just wasn’t having his best day on the golf course. Mahomes, fueled by Coors Light, was on fire for a good portion of the game.
“I feel like I’ve been carried by Pat all day,” Allen said.
To Allen’s credit, he almost came up clutch in the end with a long putt to keep things tied. In that case, they would’ve entered a sudden death round where the closest drive to the hole would’ve won.
The good news is that all four of these quarterbacks raised a ton of money for charity and they seemed to have a good time while they did it. Hopefully, Mahomes and Allen will get a chance to redeem themselves against Brady and Rodgers on the golf course and the gridiron.
