Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Josh Allen lead a 3-horse race for MVP after the NFL Draft

The 2023 NFL Draft has put plenty of promising new players in the league, but two of the league’s best quarterback still lead the betting odds for MVP.

Bet MGM shared that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sit atop the possible MVP rankings with +650 odds.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (+750), Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (+900) and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (+1000) round out the top five.

Fascinatingly, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (+2500) is ahead of NFL starters like Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr.

The usual suspects for the award aren’t a surprise, and it’s not a surprise there are no non-quarterback players on the list.

Mahomes is always the safest bet, as he’s the best player in football. He won the MVP honor this past winter and should be the favorite to do so again.

Although, Burrow is so talented that it makes sense for him to have the same odds as Mahomes. We’ll see if we get a surprise contender this fall once the NFL resumes.
