Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes could not stop himself from laughing at the terrible first pitch his star tight end Travis Kelce threw out ahead of the Guardians home opener against the Mariners on Friday.
Moments after the pitch—one that Kelce spiked, sending the ball to the ground and rolling past home—the two-time Super Bowl winner and NFL MVP likely had his biggest laugh of the day.
“Ayyyyyy bruhhhhhhhhh 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀🤣🤣🤣 @tkelce,” Mahomes tweeted.
All Kelce could do was laugh after throwing one of the worst first pitches in recent memory. But, the eight-time Pro Bowler gave himself a break and jokingly stated what might have led to the spiked ball.
“Lmao aye man… shouldn’t have ate that popcorn 🍿😬,” Kelce tweeted in response to Mahomes.

Mahomes is no stranger to baseball as he grew up playing the sport. He was a top prospect in the 2014 MLB draft. He has also credited his training in the sport with improving his skillset as a quarterback on the football field.
Maybe Mahomes could lend Kelce some lessons to perfect his pitching skills.
