Mr Kielty said if extra shows are requested by RTE, they will be paid to him on a pro-rata basis. He also confirmed he is receiving a one off payment of €20,000 “to cover the pre-production and rehearsals from now to September”.
In a statement, Mr Kielty said: "I'm pleased to finally be able to share that I've signed a three-season deal to host The Late Late Show beginning this September.
"I'm being paid €250,000 per 30 show season. If additional shows are requested by RTÉ, they'll be paid on a pro-rata basis.
"I'm also receiving a one-off payment of €20,000 to cover the pre-production and rehearsals from now to September.
"The contract allows me to submit flight and accommodation expenses, but I've waived this. I've made it clear to RTÉ that I will be covering my own flights and accommodation costs.
"I've also asked RTÉ to carbon offset my flights.
"I genuinely hope this helps clarify things going forward. I can't wait to get started."
But speaking during a grilling at the Public Acccounts Committee, it was revealed Mr Kielty has waived €50K in expenses.
"The original contract that the chair would've seen that would've been provided by the CFO, there was €50,000 of expenses."
TD Alan Kelly asked: "So the drop is €30K," but Mr Lynch clarified: "It's €50K. So Patrick Kielty has waved €50K."
Mr Kelly confirmed: "So just to be clear. He's on €250K, he's getting €20K for pre production... and he's waived €50K of what?" to which Mr Lynch replied: "Fees... expenses"
It comes in the wake of calls for Mr Kielty to release his salary from the Oireachtas Media Committee on Wednesday.
The Oireachtas Committee on Media heard yesterday that Mr Kielty’s pay deal could be made public by Friday, pending agreement from him and the RTÉ Board's Remuneration Committee.
The committee also heard that RTÉ’s Director of Content, Chief Financial Officer and legal department took part in negotiations with Mr Kielty around his remuneration.
Chief Financial Officer Richard Collins said that he had made RTÉ Board Chair Siún Ní Raghallaigh aware of the details, adding that the contract with Mr Kielty has been signed by both sides.
Labour Senator Marie Sherlock said that it was "vital" for confidence in the broadcaster that "all the parts of that package are made public".
Fianna Fáil Senator Timmy Dooley said that RTÉ has "no choice" but to make the details of the agreement known.
