Leeds United’s contingent of new signings have certainly made an impression on Patrick Bamford this summer. The Whites have been busy over the off-season, supplementing Jesse Marsch’s senior squad with six new signings.
Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca represented the club’s first three purchases in preparation for the head coach's first full season at Elland Road and they have since been joined by Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra as the club look to fill a number of holes within the squad. Leeds are known to be looking for more signings, with a striker considered to be top of the list at this stage, but Bamford has been impressed with those who have arrived so far.
All six have travelled with the squad to Gold Coast and the forward believes the two-week trip to Australia will only serve to help them get their feet further under the table at Elland Road.

“Top lads,” Bamford said when asked about the new additions by LeedsLive. “I think the most important thing with any new signings, and we've got a fair few, is that they're good lads and fit into the group.
“It doesn't matter how good a player you are, if you're not a good lad, a bad egg, then it doesn't quite fit. But all of these lads are top guys and they fit in seamlessly. I think this trip is really important for them as well because you do get to know them better. But as I said, they're proper good lads and I think we're going to enjoy playing with them.
“There's no pressure on them. You know some of them because they're good players. I think the most important thing was fitting in to the group. They've done that so then they take as much time as they need to bed in football wise.”
The Whites arrived in Australia on Monday night and they’re currently working towards their first game of the tour, with a clash against Brisbane Roar lined up for Thursday at the Cbus Super Stadium. However, a chunk of Marsch’s squad may well have a large dose of jet lag to contend with first.
“It's interesting,” Bamford laughed. “There was about 10 of us this morning out walking at seven.
“One message went into the group chat at like five in the morning, 'anyone up' and about 16 players replied, so it's tough but I think once we stay up through today and go to bed normal time tonight, it'll be alright.
“We know we've not come here on holiday. Obviously it's a pre-season tour so the main aim is to get fitness. There are added benefits to being in a place like this as well. But as I said, the main reason here is to get fit.”
