Patrick Bamford has said that he is "very confident" Leeds United can avoid relegation from the Premier League this season as he opened up on Javi Gracia's 'calm' demeanour following the 2-2 draw with Brighton at Elland Road.
Bamford's superb strike levelled the scores for Leeds just before half-time on Saturday afternoon during their game against the Seagulls. The forward's 20-yard deflected effort cancelled out Alexis Mac Allister's opening goal to ensure that Javi Gracia's half-time team talk was not all doom and gloom.
Leeds also needed another sensational strike 12 minutes from time to share the points with Brighton as Jack Harrison bent his curling effort into the far corner 12 minutes from time to make it 2-2 after scoring an own goal on the hour mark.

After the game, Bamford was asked to share his thoughts on the draw as he revealed that although he was happy with the point, there was also an element of frustration over what could have been as the full-time. whistle blew.
"We came into the game and obviously had a solid game plan," he told LUTV. "We knew that they would have the majority of the ball and the way they build up, but I think we had enough chances really to get three points in the end. But a draw against a team like that. They're a very good team so we can be happy with that."
Bamford's strike from outside the area caught the eye as the forward admitted he benefitted from a little bit of luck with the deflection off Adam Webster before cannoning off the crossbar and into the net.
"I thought as soon as Jack [Harrison] played it, I knew that one of the midfielders was coming behind me," he added. "So I just shifted it onto my right foot and then I just thought why not have a shot and fortunately the deflection helped a little bit."
And the Leeds man felt that his side could have walked away with all three points if they had been more ruthless in front of goal.
He said: "We probably could have got a couple more for a little bit more clinical. We can't be disappointed with two goals, it's just unfortunate that they scored two as well."
When asked about Leeds' chances of survival this term, Bamford replied: "Very confident. I think the manager has come in and obviously is a very calm guy.
"He's got us organised and I think you saw that we stuck to our game plan even when the fans sometimes were getting a little bit restless, but I think it worked and the lads fully believe in what he has come in and tried to get us to do so. We're enjoying it and I think we've got enough in the squad.
And he was also asked how much longer he thinks it will be until he reaches 50 goals for the club having scored his 49th in the draw with Brighton.
Bamford jokingly responded: "Next week I hope! That would be nice."
