A person was taken to hospital after an air ambulance helicopter landed on a patch of grass in Newcastle's West End.
The chopper, from the Great North Air Ambulance Service(GNAAS), was dispatched after it was reported that someone had "a fall" in the Benwell area of Newcastle.
The helicopter was able to land on a patch of grass near Farndale Road, at around 6pm last night.
However, the adult patient did not need to be air lifted and was taken to hospital by road.
The Chronicle understands the emergency response was sparked by the person becoming unwell and they are not believed to have fallen.
A North East Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called to a medical incident at a private address in the Westgate Road area at 5.42pm last night. We dispatched two resources and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service but are unable to provide any further information.”
And a spokeswoman from the GNAAS added: "We were called at 5.51pm yesterday to reports of a fall. They arrived on the scene at 6.12pm. They assessed and treated a patient who was taken to hospital by the North East Ambulance Service."
