'Pathetic!' - Manchester United fans slam David de Gea after Brentford blunders

A number of Manchester United supporters have slammed goalkeeper David de Gea after his blunder handed Brentford an early lead at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday evening.

With just ten minutes on the clock, midfielder Josh Dasilva's effort from distance squirmed through the hands of De Gea and trickled into the net. It was a dismal error from the Spaniard and one that gave United a mountain to climb just as the clock ticked into double figures.

De Gea thought he had done enough to cling onto the midfielder's relatively weak effort, but he failed to, allowing it to trickle into the goal. The Spaniard was already under pressure after failing to go goal for the ball ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion's first goal last weekend.

As you can see from the messages displayed in the tweets above, United's fans have blasted De Gea, particularly for his distribution. He was at fault for each of Brentford's goals and was made to pay.
