Grinding Gear Games' highly successful Path of Exile 2 early access release was met with a troubled launch but was able to bounce back immediately.
The sequel to the classic action RPG brings a ton of new challenges in the form of bosses that players can take on throughout the story. One of these enemies is Jamanra, the Abomination, who can be encountered in the game's second act.
Jamanra is the main final boss of this part of Path of Exile 2 and is located on the Dreadnought Vanguard when you are with Asala. This guide helps players with the basics of the boss fight and what they can do to increase their chances of coming out alive.
Preparing for the Fight
Before you take on Jamanra, the Abomination, it is highly recommended to be at least level 33 to 36 to make sure you are strong enough to survive. It should be noted that the boss is particularly weak to cold damage, according to Polygon.
This means that Sorceress or Monk users can take advantage of their abilities to deal even more damage. Other than this, you can also use fire damage or poison damage to take the boss down.
When it comes to defense, you should get as much lightning resistance as you can to reduce the amount of damage you receive from Jamanra's attacks. One particularly useful item is the lightning resistance charm that can be found in Act 1.
You can also use the Topaz Ring and have a few pieces of your equipment with a form of lightning resistance to get your defenses up. This would typically be enough to help you survive against Jamanra.
Fighting Jamanra, the Abomination
The main thing to know about this boss fight is that there are two phases and the first has the boss being rather sluggish. He will move around the arena to send out two electrical pillars that move, PCGamesN said.
The boss can summon a sandstorm as well as several undead minions to attack you. You should hide behind Asala's shield and use ranged attacks as much as you can.
Jamanra can cause two explosions on the ground that are signaled by him raising his arm. You should stay behind him to avoid the attack.
Whenever the boss summons electrical pillars, you should stay away as much as you can from them to avoid taking any damage. Jamanra can also shoot lightning from his fingertips, which can be dodged by moving behind him.
In Phase 2, the boss's Dreadnought will break, and the arena will change to become a little bit more open. The main drawback here is that Asala is knocked unconscious and will not be able to assist you.
Jamanra gets new attacks in the second part of the fight, such as tornadoes, a sword swing, and a horizontal slash. The boss can also rain down spears on your location, which can be avoided by moving to the side.
Another new attack is where the boss summons massive Fire Gates that can shoot out a stream of daggers. This particular attack is only performed when Jamanra is at around a quarter of his health.
Other Tips
You should also use life flasks that provide increased maximum charges or gains charges per second to keep yourself healthy throughout the boss fight. Life regeneration per second is also a useful passive to have to keep you topped up while dodging Jamanra's attacks.
Keep an ear out for sound cues, as Jamanra will perform a number of voice cues before performing certain attacks.
While some of these are not quite reliable in predicting his attacks, they can somewhat notify you when one is actually about to happen, according to Mobalytics.
