The path has been cleared for George Hirst to be called up to play for Scotland this month.
National team boss Steve Clarke stated yesterday that the Scottish FA weren't able to get the required paperwork over the line in time for Hirst to be named in his initial March squad.
Now, though, it has emerged through FIFA that Hirst has switched nations and is now eligible to play for Scotland.
Indeed, the Fifa Change of Associaton Platform details players who have changed their affiliation to a new member association (MA) to become eligible to compete for that representative country's international teams.

Hirst's name has now appeared on the database, with 'The Scottish Football Association' listed as his 'new member association' and 'The Football Association Ltd' of England now down as his 'former member association'.
The path is now clear for the 26-year-old, who has scored three goals in 19 appearances for Ipswich Town this season, to join up with Clarke's squad ahead of the crucial UEFA Nations League A play-off tie with Greece.
Forwards Che Adams, Tommy Conway, James Wilson and Kevin Nisbet were included in the initial squad, although Hirst may yet beef up the frontline.
