And while appearing on RTE's punditry team, Kerry legend Pat Spillane was not please with the side's performance.

Speaking on the Sunday Game, he said: "Kerry won today playing as poor as I've ever seen them play in Croke Park in Championship.

"They were very, very poor today. Three forwards didn't score today, Seanie O'Shea wasn't his normal self.

"Stephen O'Brien only okay, Dara Moynihan anonymous, Paudie Clifford completely cancelled out

"At the end of the day it's about winning and they won playing badly. They won because their efficiency up front.

"Their shooting was much better than Mayo's and at the end of the day you look at Mayo and you look at that second half and you see wides, the final kick into the full forward line poor.

"Just their play in the final third, their game management and their composure.

"Positives for Kerry is they are in the semi-final, they won playing poorly. "
