Passenger locator form rules for Turkey, Spain, Greece and France as covid restrictions ease

The summer holidays are just round the corner and many of us will be planning on packing our bags and heading to sunnier pastures.

After over two years of covid restrictions, some countries around the world are starting to ease their rules and make it easier for visitors to travel and enjoy the holiday hotspots.

Each country can enforce their own rules and while the UK have lifted all travel restrictions, much of Europe still have requirements for those who are fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated.

Greece is the latest country to relax their travel rules. From May 1, travellers arriving from the UK are exempt from the requirement to show a vaccine certificate, proof of a negative test, or a certificate of recovery from covid to enter Greece.

Here are the latest guidelines regarding passenger locator forms for Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Cyprus and France.

Spain

Fully vaccinated people, plus those who can prove they’ve recovered from Covid in the last six months, do not need to complete a Spanish Health Control form.

Under 12s exempt from Spain’s testing and vaccination requirements, as Birmingham Live reports.

Adults who aren’t fully vaccinated cannot currently travel to Spain for tourism purposes, although children aged between 12 and 17 can travel to Spain if they can provide a negative PCR test result from no more than 72 hours prior to their arrival, or a recent recovery certificate.

France

According to the Foreign Office’s travel guidance, people travelling to France may be asked to complete the EU Passenger Locator Form before boarding.

Portugal

People travelling to mainland Portugal do not need to complete a passenger locator form. However, the UK Foreign Office's guidance states that travellers to the Azores are required to fill out a passenger locator form before arrival, and it is also recommended that you do so when travelling to Madeira or Porto Santo.

You can find the passenger locator form for Madeira or Porto Santo here, and a health form for the Azores here.

Turkey

Tourists aged six and over will need to complete Turkey’s online entry form no more than 72 hours before arriving in Turkey, the UK government’s travel guidance states.

Cyprus

Passenger locator forms are no longer required when entering the Republic of Cyprus (different rules may apply in Northern Cyprus, which the UK does not recognise). This requirement was scrapped on April 18th, the Visit Cyprus website states.

Greece

Since March 15th, people travelling to Greece have not been required to complete a passenger locator form.

Italy

Adults entering or travelling through Italy as visitors are required to complete an EU Passenger Locator Form. Accompanied minors can be registered on their accompanying adult’s passenger locator form in the declaration section.
