Passenger hits out at 'soul destroying' parking fee at Dublin Airport

A Dublin Airport passenger has described parking fees at the airport as 'soul destroying' after being charged €61 overnight.

The individual booked parked for a duration of 30 hours at Dublin Airport, from May 28 until May 29. The person booked the short term option at Terminal 2.

The passenger was left shocked by the hefty sum and posted their booking summary on Twitter to voice their frustrations. The majority of Twitter users agreed that the cost was 'shocking' underneath the original post.

The affected person wrote: "61 lids for 1 night parking now at Dublin Airport. What a shower. Price gouging is becoming soul destroying at this stage."

Dublin Airport is gearing up for a busy summer as passenger numbers are expected to soar in the coming months. Parking supply is at the same level as last year as the Quick Park facility remains out of action.

A daa spokesperson said: "'We are doing all we can to ensure anyone who needs to park at Dublin Airport this summer is able to do so. Using a dynamic pricing mechanism gives us the best chance of that, particularly while the 6,200 spaces formerly operated by Quick Park remain unavailable to the travelling public."
