A passenger on board the flight that crashed in Toronto shared his harrowing experience as the plane turned upside down on the runway. The passenger, identified as John Nelson, described the moments leading up to the crash as seemingly normal, with no indication of any issues with the aircraft.
Nelson mentioned that he noticed gusty winds and heavy snow on the runway during the approach, but nothing out of the ordinary for a typical flight between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Toronto. However, upon impact, the plane hit the ground hard and veered sideways, causing panic among the passengers.
As the aircraft came to a stop, Nelson found himself hanging upside down in his seat, with the cabin engulfed in chaos. People were yelling and scrambling to exit the plane, with the air filled with the smell of jet fuel.

Despite the disorientation and fear, Nelson managed to unbuckle himself and make his way towards the exit, along with his seatmate. They navigated the overturned interior of the plane and eventually reached the door, eager to escape the dangerous situation.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Nelson expressed gratitude for surviving the crash, stating, 'It's amazing that we're still here.' He recounted seeing a 'big fireball' outside the left side of the plane, emphasizing the intensity of the impact.
Following the incident, Nelson noted that the experience had left him smelling like jet fuel, a stark reminder of the terrifying moments inside the overturned aircraft. Despite the chaos and confusion, he emphasized the importance of acting quickly to evacuate the plane and ensure the safety of all passengers.
