A passenger aboard a plane says they were left utterly repulsed after the person seated in front of them kicked off their shoes and made themselves a little too comfortable mid-flight.
An alarming photo that has since gone viral appears to show the shoeless person in question quite happily resting their feet on a headrest without a care in the world, toes wriggling towards the ceiling for all to see.
To make matters even worse, the air conditioning ended up wafting the pungent aroma of "smelly feet" all around the cabin, much to the dismay of those onboard, who of course had no means of getting away without a parachute.
Taking to Reddit, the disgusted passenger shared a snap of the feet propped up against the headrest, clad only in a pair of white socks.
They shuddered: "Putting your smelly feet on the headrest during a flight. The air vent was blasting and wafted the scent through the plane".
A number of fellow Reddit users were left aghast at the "infuriating" scene, and urged the passenger to get the flight attendants involved, for the sake of the nostrils of all those onboard.
While many people understood taking off your shoes on a long-haul flight, very few agreed that your shoeless feet should be thrust up in the air in such a way, without any consideration for others.
Many also couldn't understand how this bizarre position could be in any way more comfortable than simply placing your feet on the floor.
One person tutted: "So many do not know how to behave in public, nor do they consider how their behavior impacts those around them. Just so self-absorbed…"
Another wrote: "This person knows what they are doing. They understood that they were making the whole plane smell like their feet and it made them happy."
A third no-nonsense individual suggested: "That's when you get up to go to the bathroom, and just before ducking into the restroom, you yell, 'Ay, whose feet smell like s***!?"
