Passenger accuses BA worker of stealing AirPods after tracking them to London flat

An airline passenger claims a British Airways worker stole their Apple AirPods after accidentally leaving them on a plane.

A 33-year-old city worker says he reported the missing headphones after he got off the flight at Heathrow Airport.

When he logged into the Find My app on his iPhone, which can track where his other Apple products are, and was shocked to see them making daily trips from the airport to a flat in London.

The passenger, who had recently come back from Austin, Texas, was furious.

He said: "I left my AirPods in the seat back on a flight from Austin three weeks ago.

"I reported it to lost property."

He shared images on Facebook to show how he knows where they are now.

He explained that they moved from the BA's Global Learning Academy at Heathrow and the flat in central London.

He claimed: "Now I get to watch the BA employee who stole them take them between their flat and the BA Learning Academy every day. Scumbag."

He has reported it to the airline.

One person commented: "Unbelievable, or rather it should be. Would imagine they will be an ex-BA employee very soon.

"Certainly should be, so much for To Fly, To Serve."

Another said: "Phone the police, surely it's their job to get them back for you."

One joked: "Can you do a stake out near the address?

Another added: "The world is full of dreadful individuals. This is good entertainment."

One person seemed to be less sympathetic and said: "Maybe not be negligent in the first place and take responsibility."

A British Airways spokesperson told The Mirror: "We are currently investigating the matter."

It comes as British Airways was recently criticised for an "unidentifiable" first-class passenger's breakfast that was shared on Twitter.

The meal appears to consist of sausage, mushroom, hash browns and grey-looking scrambled eggs and was reportedly served on a flight to Abuja, Nigeria.

It's not clear how much the passenger paid for their flight, but at the time of writing, first-class BA tickets from London to Abuja in June and July cost a staggering £7,172 per person.

The picture, which has been shared anonymously, has garnered thousands of likes and hundreds of comments.

Speaking to The Mirror in regards to the picture of the food, a spokesperson for British Airways said: "We’re speaking with our third-party caterers to understand what happened here, as this clearly doesn’t meet our usual high standards. We’re sorry we let our customers down on this occasion.
