Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak must both resign after breaking the law and lying, Keir Starmer has demanded.
This afternoon, the Met Police have confirmed their intention to hand fixed penalty notices to the Prime Minister and the Chancellor for breaching the Covid laws they set in order to attend boozy Downing Street lockdown parties.
A No 10 spokeswoman said: “The Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer have today received notification that the Metropolitan police intend to issue them with fixed penalty notices.
“We have no further details, but we will update you again when we do.”
Sir Keir said the Tories are "totally unfit to govern", and called for the to step down.

The Labour leader this afternoon said: “ Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak have broken the law and repeatedly lied to the British public. They must both resign.
“The Conservatives are totally unfit to govern. Britain deserves better.”
Shadow foreign secretary David Lammy joined calls Mr Johnson and Mr Sunak to step down.
He tweeted: “Criminality and lies at the heart of government. Led by the Prime Minister and the Chancellor.
“Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak must resign now for breaking the laws they enforced on us all.”
