Parts of Blackpool ride The Big One sell out in 90 minutes

Parts of one of the most popular rides at Blackpool Pleasure Beach are being sold off to buyers across the world.

Fans of the iconic The Big One - or the Pepsi Max Big One - can get their hands on parts of the ride, as sections of the track are getting an update.

You can buy parts at a minimum of £150 and there are nine sections of the track available to order online.

The most expensive listed piece, The Big One Track Off-Cut (£450) sold out in 90 minutes, Lancs Live reports.

There are 19 sections available at various lengths and so far, the Pleasure Beach has received 14 enquiries for them from the Netherlands and the US.

The minimum length of the purchased track would be two metres - but it 'depends' on what the guest requests, the Pleasure Beach has said.

Whilst we're wondering what use a piece of the track would be to a happy-buyer, Pleasure Beach have said a number of fans have purchased a number of ride parts over the years.

Of the nine parts available to buy, you can also get the Big One Track long steps (£280) or, if you want something smaller, the Big One Track short steps (£200).

The original steel pieces range in the amount they have in stock.

For example, the Big One Track short platform (£170) has 28 pieces available to buy.

There are several sold-out items after a week of the parts becoming up for grabs - including the Big One Track Platform (£350), Big One Track long platform (£230) and the Big One Track Platform side handrail (£400).

The pieces are all sold as seen in the picture, the Pleasure Beach has explained, so if you order the long steps you can get an eye-catching set of steps for your house.

The Big One Track piece, sold on a wooden base, is rated five-stars by four owners who all left shining reviews in March 2021.

Brian T Jones, a verified owner, said: "Mine arrived today and I couldn't be happier with it. The wooden stand and gold plaque are a lovely touch (you can lift the track piece off the stand, it's not attached) and along with the certificate of authenticity, it really does feel like a true collector's piece."

Luke, a second verified owner, wrote: "This got delivered yesterday. I am so happy with it. I'm so happy that I own a piece of one of my favourite roller coasters in the world."

The sections are all limited and some are available by collection only. You can view the pieces here.

The Pleasure Beach is also introducing a new 'Walk the Big One XL' experience this summer that will see people "taken to places the public have never been before" as they walk the Big One.

As part of the part in the walk, fans will be taken to two new exciting locations on the ride course to enjoy what is said to have spectacular views of the ride, theme park and even the sea.

In total, the full experience lasts 90 minutes and harnesses and protective clothing will be provided.

The experience is priced at £150 per person.

Limited dates are available for the experience.

  • Friday 29th April - 4 spaces per walk. 5.30pm & 7.30pm
  • Friday 6th May - 6 spaces per walk. 5.30pm & 7.30pm
  • Friday 17th June - 6 spaces per walk. 5.30pm & 7.30pm
