Partick Thistle's Brian Graham signs new contract extension at Firhill

Brian Graham has penned a new two-year deal with Partick Thistle to extend his current two and a half year stay at the Scottish Championship club.

The popular striker joined Ian McCall's side in January 2020 and finished top scorer for the second successive season after bagging 18 goals last term. In just 75 appearances in the red and yellow he has found the net on 32 occasions and has found a place as a fans' favourite with his passionate and consistent displays up top.

The 34-year-old helped the Jags finished fourth in the Scottish Championship last term before they lost out in the promotion play-offs at the end of the campaign. Now with the new season just days away, the hitman has been rewarded with fresh terms and a contract that will see him reach almost five years at Firhill. A club statement confirming the deal read: "As exclusively revealed at Greaves Sports moments ago, we can today confirm that Brian Graham has signed a contract extension which takes his current deal to the end of the 2023/24 season.

"The popular striker joined the club in January 2020 and over the last two and a half years has found a place in every Jags fans heart with passionate displays and a consistency for netting important goals.

"In almost 75 appearances for the club, Thistle’s number nine has found the back of the net 32 times in red and yellow. A highly successful 21/22 season saw Brian finish Jags top scorer for the second season in a row, bagging 18 goals as Thistle finished in the top four in the cinch Championship.

"With the new season days away, Brian has been rewarded for his prolific goalscoring with a new deal that will take him to almost five years of service in red and yellow."

Thistle return to competitive action on Saturday when they face Stenhousemuir in their Premier Sports Cup opener.

Kilmarnock, Fraserburgh and Montrose make up the rest of the Group B section.
