Parramatta Eels star Dylan Brown has been charged with sexually touching another person following an incident at a hotel in Sydney's eastern suburbs on Saturday night.

NSW Police say they were called to the hotel on South Head Road in Double Bay just before midnight, following a report of sexual touching.

"Officers arrested a 22-year-old man who was taken to Waverley Police Station," police said in a statement.

"The man has been charged with sexually touch another person without consent."

The New Zealand-born player moved to Sydney to pursue his career in league.

He played for the Parramatta Eels as a junior before joining the ranks of the NRL in 2019. He was aged 18.

In a statement, the club said they have advised the NRL's integrity unit about the incident.

"The Parramatta Eels have been made aware of an incident involving Dylan Brown last night.

"As it is a police matter, the club will not be making further comment at this time."

The Parramatta five-eighth was granted bail and is due to appear in court on Wednesday.
