Parked car found with 300 wraps of cocaine in glovebox

A car left parked on the street was found to have a large amount of cocaine in the glovebox.

Merseyside Police obtained a warrant for a car that was parked in Maghull after it was believed drugs were being stored inside. After a forced entry officers discovered an estimated 300 wraps of cocaine inside the glovebox.

The vehicle has now been impounded by police as forensic tests are carried out to identify the owner of the car. The seizures were made by Operation Pelican an ongoing police campaign launched in 2017 to combat the drug trade and gang violence in Bootle, Netherton, Litherland, and the surrounding areas.

A post on the Sefton Police Facebook page read: "After a busy day Operation Pelican Officers have also had the below seizure from a vehicle. Officers have obtained a warrant for a vehicle that was parked in the #Maghull area after it was believed drugs were stored within it.

"Officers have later forced entry to the vehicle and located a large amount of individual wraps of Cocaine within the glove box. It is estimated to be in excess of 300 wraps of Cocaine. The vehicle is now undergoing forensic testing to identify those responsible".
