Paris Jackson says her dad Michael was 'free-love, hippie-type dude' in rare interview

Paris Jackson has spoken about her father in a rare interview saying he was a “free-love, hippie-type dude”.

Michael Jackson, known to the world as the King of Pop, died in 2009 when his daughter Paris, who he had with Debbie Rowe, was just 11 years old.

Now 24, Paris, a musician and a model, has revealed that Michael instilled in her a belief that “beauty comes from the inside” and that she should keep an open mind when it comes to her looks.

Speaking to Popsugar, she said: “I try and always keep an open mind - not just with makeup, but with everything.

“I was raised by a free-love, hippie-type dude, so we were taught that beauty comes from the inside - and to this day, I still believe that.”

Paris revealed that she’s been “diving deeper into her spiritual life” by embracing self-love and positive affirmations.

She added: “It wasn't until the last couple of years that I've started feeling really good about myself and my body, and feeling comfortable and everything. Those moments of self-love aren't 24/7, but the bad moments are fewer and further between.”

On May 11 Paris made a rare joint public appearance with her brother Prince at a celebratory show in New York to mark the success of broadway show MJ the Musical.

Paris, 24, sported an intricate floor length lace gown in a sheet nude fabric.

while big brother Prince, 25, opted for a black blazer and plain black t-shirt, styled with dark blue jeans and black shoes. A chunky silver necklace popped brightly from his dark attire.

Taking to Instagram, proud sister Paris shared one selfie with her brother and two others from the event.

MJ the Musical has received 10 Tony Award nominations, with a ceremony slated to take place on June 13, 2022. The show, which is often referred to simply as MJ, is a jukebox musical showcasing the music of Michael Jackson.

Sharing joy over the musical's recognition in the awards, Prince Jackson shared a poster for the show to his Instagram page and penned: "Congratulations to @mjthemusical for 10 Tony nominations and congrats to @myles.frost for his nomination for Best Performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical!

"I’m so proud of y’all and it’s truly well earned!"

The siblings have a younger brother Bigi, now 20, who was formerly known as Blanket.
