Paris Hilton's debut Met Gala entrance BLOCKED by climate change protestors

Paris Hilton was unable to enter the Met Gala on time after protestors stood in front of the vehicle she was travelling in.

The 42-year-old socialite was on her way to the glitzy bash at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York when she found her route blocked.

The scenes were captured and posted to Twitter as protestors lay out a banner in front of her vehicle which read: "The 1% are killing the climate."

The footage showed an angry crowed chanting as the blocked her black van from passing.

When she eventually walked the red carpet, Paris looked stunning in a beautiful black Marc Jacobs design.

Marc described the ideas behind the gown to Vogue, which was part leather. He told how the dazzling off-the-should design was complete by a shimmering sleeve and chest design, which was Paris' request.

The media personality paired it with an eye-catching black flower neck-tie. Paris' makeup was on point as her dark eye shadow allowed her to perfectly stare down the lens of photographers in a sultry fashion.

Paris styled her blonde locks in a tight pony tail which allowed her diamond earrings to shine in their entirety.

She had earlier teased her look to fans in an Instagram update prior to making her way to the event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Taking to social media she showed herself in the full flow of getting ready. She made sure to get a lymphatic massage ahead of the event in order to look "snatched for the Met", before sharing a selfie to personally thank her masseuse.

The socialite had been rumoured to be on Anna Wintour's "off list" for the stand-out night in the fashion calendar for some time.

But the Simple Life star's rejections over the years has now been put to bed in an emphatic way. It's thought that the olive branch might have been extended due to this year's theme featuring around the iconic late designer, Karl Lagerfeld.
