Paris Hilton reveals name of baby boy with husband Carter Reum

Paris Hilton announced the name of her first child Wednesday on her “This is Paris” podcast.

Hilton and her husband Carter Reum’s baby boy is named Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum, the 42-year-old heiress revealed.

“This is a name that is so special to me. I have been planning my children’s names for years and years,” Hilton said. “Over a decade ago, I thought of this amazing name. It’s such a beautiful name, it’s so unique.”

Hilton and Reum announced their baby’s arrival in January, reportedly through a surrogate, but she said they kept the information private for an extended period. Even Hilton’s immediate family and friends didn’t know for a week.

A lifetime in the spotlight led to Hilton’s decision to keep the news quiet, she said, adding that she continued to avoid revealing the child’s name until her podcast release on Wednesday.

“We’ve been keeping everything really private,” Hilton said. “My life has been so public, and I’ve never really had anything just be mine.”

Hilton said she’d been committed for years to naming her children after world cities. If she has a daughter in the future, she plans to name her London.

As for baby Phoenix, he’s named after the city and “the bird that flames out and then rises from the ashes to fly again,” Hilton said. “I want my son to grow up knowing that disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives. And that this should give us great hope for the future.”

Baby Phoenix got his middle name from Barron Hilton, Paris’ grandfather and the first successor to Conrad Hilton’s hotel empire.
