Paris Fury says there is 'no chance' Gypsy King husband Tyson will retire

Tyson Fury’s wife fears there is “no chance” he will retire despite the heavyweight world champ declaring his defeat of Dillian Whyte marked the “end of the road for the Gypsy King.”

Fury, 33, retained his WBC belt – and pocketed £22million – with a sixth-round stoppage against his fellow Brit, roared on by a large chunk of the 94,000 crowd.

Noel Gallagher, Frank Bruno, Danny Dyer and daughter Dani were among those filling Wembley, in what is believed to be European boxing’s biggest ever gate.

But after his victory, 6ft 9in Fury who is now worth £65m, promised to keep his word to wife Paris and hang up his gloves.

“That’s me, I’m done. I’m out,” he said.

“I’m going to spend my time now with my family and kids, school runs, tip runs, s****** nappies and that’s it. I’m going to train the boys up and enjoy my life.”

He added: “I’ve been in this game 20 years, amateur and professional.

“I believed I owed the fans one last showdown and to do it at Wembley was phenomenal but I’d say this was definitely the end for the Gypsy King.

“I went out with a bang. This is the end.”

However the dad-of-six told, whose stands at 32 wins – and one draw against Deontay Wilder – from 33 fights, told reporters he would not rule out exhibition matches.

And while he was saying “I’ve won every belt there is to win, there’s nothing more I can do,” Paris, 31, was seen mouthing in the background “no chance”.

Paris later said she is feels it would “not be possible” for Tyson to live a quiet life.

She told of “different avenues” he would probably go down, adding: “I’d be worried to death if he did. He’d probably want to be a WWE star or something crazy like that. Everyone knows he’s the best.”

She said of his victory: “It was the perfect ending. I would like him to come home now, he has nothing more to prove.

“We are very blessed not to need more money. The man has done everything he could ever do. Everyone can agree everyone knows who is the greatest now.”

Although she then added: “In my heart the only reason Tyson would come back would be a unification fight...”

As the family celebrated triumphant Tyson sent a tweet yesterday morning saying: “I Came I Saw I Conquered. Thank you Wembley, We Made History! God Bless You All.”

His wife then posted a photo of them all eating pancakes and fruit, with the title “family celebration”.

Tyson was sat next to influencer Molly-Mae Hague 22, who is dating his younger brother Tommy, 22, who had his own victory on Saturday night in alight heavyweight clash with Daniel Bocianski.

Molly-Mae posted on Instagram : “Couldn’t have asked for a better night” after both fights had finished.

In the afternoon the entourage moved on to posh Sheesh restaurant in Chigwell, Essex, where Tyson was snapped in a multi-coloured suit raising a glass of fizz.

It has been suggested Tyson may also have something else to celebrate, as his pal Carl Froch claimed on the BBC that Paris is expecting their seventh child.

Today, back in Morecambe, near Blackpool, Lancs, Manchester-born Tyson’s neighbours were delighted by his win,

One said: He deserves all his success. He always seems happy and smiling. There’s certainly not any big egos He is a nice man and I’m really pleased he has done so well.

“When he is training, he’ll also be running up and down the promenade.

“Then you’d see him in the town shopping or with his family – just like any normal person.

Resident Paul Boult, 33, said his openness to fans made Tyson a “true champion”.

He added: “He has put Morecambe on the map! The town has adopted him as one of their own and he has made the town his home. I’ve seen him a few times in town and he is always happy to chat.

“I just hope he doesn’t retire because boxing will be less entertaining without him.”

Tyson insists he will not be tempted out of retirement by cash and has pointed out he drives a second-hand £500 VW Passat.

“I come from f*** all, from nothing. It’s never been about money, I don’t care, I don’t care what I’ve got,” he said.

“I know money can’t make happiness.”

Tyson’s continued success has come despite mental health issues that he has previously opened up about.

Within weeks of becoming World Champ the first time round, he sank into a deep depression, started snorting cocaine, drinking daily and ended up piling on ten stone.

And sexist and homophobic remarks he made led to a petition to remove his name from the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year.

He hit back, saying: “It’s been a witch hunt ever since I won that world title... because of my background, because of who I am and what I do – there’s hatred for Travellers and gypsies around the world.”

But after Saturday's fight, Tyson said: “Doesn’t get any darker than committing suicide and I was there.

“To come back and to lose all that weight and get back mentally. You should never let anybody crush your dreams because anything is possible and I’m proof that is true.”
