Paris Fury makes way for ‘next leading lady’ Molly-Mae Hague as husband Tyson announces retirement

Paris Fury has handed the baton to the "next leading lady" after her husband Tyson Fury revealed on Saturday night that he was retiring from boxing.

The heavyweight champion fighter triumphed over Dillian White in the sixth round in front of a crowd of 94,000 people at Wembley to retain his WBC title.

Talking to the press after the fight Fury confirmed that he would be sticking to a retirement promise he had made to his other half Paris.

And his doting wife appeared more than happy to be stepping back to allow Molly-Mae Hague, girlfriend of Tyson's brother Tommy, to become her successor.

Speaking to BT Sport after the knockout victory, Tyson said: “I promised my lovely wife Paris that after the third fight with Deontay Wilder that would be it and I meant it.

“I then got offered to fight at Wembley and I thought I owed it to the fans, to every person in the United Kingdom, to come here and fight.

"Now it’s all done I have to be a man of my word. I think this is it, it might be the final curtain for The Gypsy King and what a way to go out!”

And Paris, who married her teenage sweetheart Tyson, 33, in 2008, was all smiles as she handed over to the "next leading lady" Molly-Mae Hague.

Paris, 32, posed backstage with Molly-Mae, who has been with Tommy, 22, for three years.

“The next leading lady there @mollymae with her @tommyfury winning tonight a beauty inside and out,” she wrote as she shared a snap of the pair together on her Instagram Stories.

And Molly-Mae, 22, replied with a crying emoji: “My leading lady always.”

Molly-Mae, who met and fell in love with Tommy on the dating show Love Island in 2019, cheered on her man to victory in his bout with Daniel Bocianski on the undercard for his brother at Wembley, report Manchester Evening News.

The reality TV beauty turned creative director for the Manchester-based global fashion brand PrettyLittleThing looked sensational in a elegant one-shoulder black dress.

Molly-Mae wore her blonde hair swept away from face in a chic bun and added sparkling Chanel pearl earrings. And Paris looked stunning in a white cropped top and matching feather trim cropped trousers and jacket with metallic heels with chain detail.

Tommy was victorious after nearly eight months out of the ring, and Molly-Mae revealed her boyfriend’s lucky charm. Love Island fans will remember the model slept with a baby blue stuffed toy elephant every night during her time in the Mallorcan villa.

Sharing a snap of her hunky sportsman beau on Instagram Stories, Molly-Mae showed fans Tommy had an image of Ellie Belly sewed on his silk boxing robe. “Always” she wrote with a love heart, a four-leaf clover and an elephant emoji.

Speaking with BT Sport Box Office she spoke of her pride over her man’s win. “I’m so proud and so relieved,” she said. “We can relax and be a couple again. I haven’t seen him for two months.”

Molly-Mae addressed how she copes with seeing her man in the ring. “I don’t watch him I watch the screen,” she admitted. "That’s my way of dealing with it. To watch him in the flesh feels much harder so I watch him on the screen.”

Molly-Mae said the couple are now looking forward to heading to America for a holiday where they will be celebrating his 23rd birthday.

“He’s written me a list of all the places he wants to eat at,” she said. “He’s very excited to eat. Burgers are his favourite thing to eat. Burgers everywhere.”
