Paris 2024 Triathlons To Proceed Despite Water Quality Concerns

Paris 2024 holds triathlon test event for the Olympics

The women’s and men’s Olympic triathlons are set to proceed on Wednesday morning in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, as confirmed by organizers and World Triathlon. The events were initially in doubt due to concerns over poor water quality levels in the River Seine, which had led to the cancellation of several training swims and the postponement of the men’s triathlon that was originally scheduled for Tuesday.

However, following the latest water analyses received at 3:20 a.m., it has been determined that the water quality is now compliant with the required standards set by World Triathlon. This positive development has paved the way for the women’s and men’s triathlons to go ahead as planned on July 31st, with the women's event scheduled for 8 a.m. and the men's event at 10:45 a.m.

Paris 2024 and World Triathlon have jointly announced that all stakeholders involved have given their approval for the triathlon competitions to proceed as scheduled. This decision comes after careful consideration of the updated water quality assessments, ensuring the safety and well-being of the athletes participating in the Olympic triathlons.

The organizers have expressed their commitment to delivering a successful and safe event for all participants and spectators. With the water quality concern now addressed, the focus can shift back to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the highly anticipated triathlon events at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
