Parents warned to stop using popular Asda baby sleeping bags which could choke child

Parents have been warned to stop using eight models of Asda sleeping bags for babies and children amid concerns they could choke a child. The George Home Sleepbags have been recalled by the supermarket giant.

They include a number of Disney designs including The Lion King, Dumbo and Stitch. Affected sizes are ages 0-6 months, 6-18 months, and 18-36 months.

Anyone who has bought one of the bags is urged to stop using it immediately. Instead they can return it to an Asda store where they will be given a full refund.

A product recall was issued by the Office for Product Safety and Standards on Monday. It said: "The product presents a risk of choking as it is possible for the snap buttons on the bag to become loose and detach, producing a small part. A young child may place the small part in their mouth and choke.

"The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005. The product has been recalled from end users by Asda. Owners must stop using the product immediately, and return it to their local Asda for a full refund."
