Cocomelon-obsessed children have been scared by a sinister twist in a YouTube clip.
Tik Tok user charliemarie99 warned other parents to be aware of what their children are watching on the video-sharing site, as one seemingly innocent clip terrified her two-year-old girl.
In the viral Tik Tok, the mum described what happened. The clip shows the innocent child-friendly show Cocomelon change as sinister character Huggy Wuggy jumps out with razor sharp teeth accompanied by a terrifying sound, Birmingham Live reports.
Police have previously issued warnings to parents about Huggy Wuggy - a seemingly blue cuddly bear who sings about hugging and killing.
The mum went onto describe in the caption that her "poor little girl jumped back" when she saw it.
The comments came flooding in, with other concerned parents having seen the clip too.
The original poster clarified that she usually supervises her child spending time on YouTube.
She said: "Just want to add, my daughter gets 1 hour a day of iPad time, and it’s monitored by me. She normally watches films on Netflix or Disney Plus."
The clip can only be seen on the original version of YouTube rather than YouTube Kids, to which she added: "I’ve already installed it now, only reason it wasn’t installed is because it’s my iPad not my daughters."
Other parents had similar reactions, with one saying she "jumped a mile" when it popped up. And another wrote in reply to the viral warning: "It's awful that people feel the need to do this!"
While most parents were worried, some could see the funny side of it.
One person commented: "That’s hilarious I would turn that on and let my kid watch it builds character."
While another said: "This is the best thing I've seen all day."
