Parents warned kids may be involved in 'unacceptable' TikTok craze

Parents have been warned their children could be taking part in a TikTok craze for kicking in doors.

Gloucestershire Police have warned parents that the situation is escalating and say it is "unacceptable behaviour". Youngsters have also caused criminal damage by spraying blue paint on properties, reports Gloucestershire Live.

Police were called to Large Hunts Grove estate near the villages of Hardwicke and Haresfield, to reports of doors being kicked. Gloucester City Police tweeted on Saturday: "Do you know what your children are up to in Huntsgrove?

"Unfortunately this week and overnight again kicking doors. They have also caused damage by spraying a house. Crimes raised. Victims contacted. unacceptable behaviour."

Although they do not specifically mention TikTok police across the country have warned that there is a craze for children to kick doors and run off so they can film it and upload it.

But unlike the old cherry knocking of the past, it is usually more violent and there are reports of front doors being smashed in.

The video-sharing platform is said to be full of clips of youngsters kicking doors to a backing track of Kesha's song Die Young.

As Kesha' sings "I hear your heart beat to the beat of drums", they kick the door twice to make banging noises.

Numerous forces including, South Wales and London have put out warnings because it is damaging property and frightening residents.

Sgt Non Edwards of North Wales Police uploaded one of the videos and said: "We have had an increase of calls reporting this stupid act which is causing people to be fearful in their homes.

"I would ask all parents - do you know where your children are and what they are doing - how would you feel if they did this to your parent or grandparent?"
