Parents shopping at Lidl and Home Bargains praise £2.49 bag that will 'keep kids busy all summer'

Parents who shop at Lidl and Home Bargains have been blown away by a new item they say will keep kids busy 'all summer'. As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the bargain item, priced at £2.49, recently appeared on shelves and can be used with a £4.99 box currently on sale in Home Bargains.

One mum, posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains page, explained how she'd found a bargain bag of child-friendly sand in the Middle of Lidl. She also found a large shell which you can put the sand in, that costs £7.99.

Kelly Jones said: "Middle of Lidl! Large shell for sand/water £7.99 15kg bags of child friendly sand £2.49 (I think)! Bargain in my eyes - I’m aware they’re probably cheaper elsewhere but as Lidl Is my local shop to me it was a good price."

The post racked up comments, likes and shares, and parents have been advising one another that Home Bargains is selling sand pits for even cheaper at £4.99 - though it appears that this one is smaller than the Lidl version. What everyone agreed on, though, was how great the price of the sand is.

Haze Evans said: "We need sand for centre and this seems like a good price." Cara Moore wrote: "Home bargins [sic] have these for £5 but they are a little smaller the lidl one is better size."

Kelly Jones said: "The shells are 4.99 in home bargains. Got 2 for my little one last week." Victoria Greaves commented: "I believe these shells in Lidl are bigger than than the ones home bargains had in."

While some rushed to get them for their kids, others went shopping for their pooches. Wendy Townsend commented: "Might be worth getting for the dogs in the summer." Catherine Holmes chimed in: "These make great paddling pools for your dog..."

You can buy the items in Home Bargains and Lidl stores now.
