Parents reveal Nottingham rapper Bru-C to be secret weapon to calm their baby down in car

Two parents have revealed on social media that the only way they can get their baby to calm down in the car is to play music by the Nottingham rapper Bru-C. Josh Bruce, professionally known as Bru-C, is a rapper from Long Eaton who is now based in Nottingham and who has amassed more than 100,000,000 views on YouTube.

As well as his musical talents, parents Lainey and Ben, who themselves have a YouTube channel where they document their experiences living in a 'haunted house', have now said that Bru-C is vital in settling their son Apollo down in the car. In a video posted by the couple, Apollo is shown loudly crying in the car before Lainey starts playing the Bru-C track No Excuses.

Ben says at the start of the video: "Apollo is obviously very distressed right now, he hates the car, and we've learnt that one way we can get him to calm is through the power of Bru-C." After hitting play on No Excuses, Ben declared Apollo to be "instantly better" as the video shows his crying immediately stopping.

Bru-C has responded to the video by adapting one of the lyrics from No Excuses and tweeting: "He's going out tonight my gs." Bru-C's debut album was released in 2019, with No Excuses being one of his most recently released singles.

The rapper was arrested and subsequently released by Nottinghamshire Police in 2021 after he turned up in an ice cream van to perform one of his singles in Old Market Square. It followed England's Euros match against Denmark and Bru-C later said that he was treated very well by police and completely understood their actions.
