The parents of a three-year-old boy who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer have issued the heartbreaking update that he will be moved to a hospice imminently. Morgan Ridler was diagnosed with a rare and complex form of cancer in October 2021 at the age of just two.
After a relapse, his parents Natalie and Matthew were told his treatment was not working and the focus would move to palliative care. The youngster is the inspiration behind Morgan's Army Charitable Foundation which has the slogan No One Fights Alone.
Speaking to WalesOnline in December 2021, Natalie and her husband Matt said they noticed something might be wrong with Morgan in April that year when he started to gain weight and develop issues with his tummy. A scan at Morriston Hospital found that Morgan had adrenal cortex cancer. The odds of getting the condition are less than one in a million and his parents believe he is the only child in the UK with it.

Last week hundreds of people lined the streets to give Morgan an unforgettable day which included a drive-by from dozens of supercars including a Mercedes F1 car. Morgan also got a chance to ride for the first time in a plane with his parents. You can see all those pictures here.
As well as this, on Sunday hundreds of vehicles from Harleys and vintage Vespas to supercars, lorries, classic motors and fire engines took part in a parade past the home of three-year-old Morgan Ridler in Gorseinon. So many riders and drivers turned up to show their support it took around an hour-and-a-half for them all to roar, rev, honk and beep their way past the house.
However, on Monday June 26, Morgan's parents shared an update that everyone was dreading by announcing that Morgan was to be moved to Ty Hafan hospice as he is in "increasing pain". In a post on Morgan's Army Facebook Page they shared: "The specialists from Ty Hafan have just been to see Morgan and they believe that now is the appropriate time for Morgan to be moved to the hospice.
"We will spend tonight at home, as a family before travelling to Ty Hafan tomorrow. Morgan is in increasing pain and they want to make him as comfortable as possible and will place him on a Syringe Driver to ensure he is as happy and as comfortable as can be.
"The outpouring of love from everyone has overwhelmed us and we are eternally grateful for all the messages of support and the incredible support from our local and wider communities.
"Whilst we take this time with Morgan, our interaction with the charity page will be limited so please bear with us as we process and deal with this next step on Morgan’s journey. The online shop will also be taking a short break for a week or so, we will reopen it once we are ready and we have plenty of stock in"
It was just ten days ago that the family were given the devastating news that there was no more that could be done to help Morgan.
