Parents of SSLC students, policemen stung by bees outside exam centre

Parents of several SSLC students and a few police personnel suffered bee stings outside an examination centre in Hubballi on Monday.

The incident happened outside the examination centre at St. Michael School where nearly 100 students were taking the mathematics examination.

According to the parents of the students, the incident happened after almost all the students had entered the examination hall and some of them who had come to drop off their wards were standing outside the school compound.

According to a parent, the bees attacked them all of a sudden and he suffered bee stings after he tried to save a woman. People residing in the neighbourhood came to the rescue of the parents and the police by covering them with rugs.

However, by that time some parents, a few teachers and a few police personnel had suffered bee stings. The police then raised a cover of smoke outside the school compound to drive away the bees.

Those who suffered bee stings were rushed to KIMS Hospital where they were treated and sent home. Following the bee attack, the road from Sarvodaya Circle to Old GM’s Office at Keshwapur was closed for some time.
