Parents of alleged murder victim Amber Gibson pay tribute to their tragic daughter on 17th birthday

Amber Gibson's family have paid a heartbreaking tribute to the tragic schoolgirl on her 17th birthday "in heaven".

The youngster's devastated loved ones marked the occasion without the alleged murder victim who died in November.

Family and friends wished Amber a "happy heavenly birthday" on Saturday, January 1.

Her mum, Carol Niven, shared a photo of the teenager on Facebook in a heartbreaking post.

She said: “Aw hen, canny believe your 17th birthday in Heaven. Dance wae yer Nana.”

Helen Douglas commented: “Aww Carol, a wee tear in my eye reading this, God bless you Amber and happy heavenly birthday.”

Davina Lindsay said: “She's safe with your mum darling.”

Kay Anderson added: “Happy heavenly birthday gorgeous girl… forever young.”

And Kianna Niven said: “Happy heavenly birthday Amber. Hope you’re dancing in the sky. Thinking of you all.”

Amber had been reported missing from her Hillhouse home on Friday, November 26, and was last seen on Cadzow Street at 9.55pm that evening.

Her body was discovered near to Cadzow Glen around 10.10am on Sunday, November 28.

Amber's older brother, Connor Gibson, has since appeared in court charged in connection with her death.

The 19-year-old faces a charge of sexual assault and murder and is further accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Gibson, of Hamilton, made no plea during his brief appearance via video link from HMP Polmont and has been remanded in custody.

Last month heartbroken loved ones of the tragic teen gathered to release balloons at Chatelherault Country Park in her memory.
