In a statement posted on Ormskirk and Rural Lancs Police Facebook page, it said CCTV was at various locations and some parents "maybe receiving a knock on the door by a police officer very soon."

Officers also warned parents to ensure they know where their child is and who they are hanging around with in the evenings.

A spokesperson said: "Due to an increase in reports of Anti-Social Behaviour we will be increasing Police patrols in the Banks, Hesketh Bank, Tarleton, Aughton, Ormskirk and Burscough areas. Some CCTV footage has been recovered at various locations and some parents maybe receiving a knock on the door by a Police Officer very soon.

"Please ensure you know where your child is and who they are hanging around with in the evenings."

On the post, residents in the areas also suggested areas where anti-social behaviour may be happening.

One person said: "Try the back of Banks petrol station at night. Loads of teenagers."

Another added: "Just go to Coronation Park or around Aldi in Ormskirk at night unless it's a warm night or weekend then it tends to be Ruff woods where the little darlings like to hang around."

Police are also inviting residents to answer questions to identify their top five community issues, which they can do so here.
