Parents fuming over 'disgraceful' hike of entry fee into Flamingo Land theme park

Parents have blasted theme park Flamingo Land after it hiked up its ticket prices by more than a THIRD in just two years.

The family attraction - home of new £18million roller coaster Sik - has bumped up its on-the-door entry fee to £52.50 for guests over the age of four.

The park, in Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire, re-opened fully to the public following its annual winter closure on March 25.

Using the Wayback Machine internet archive, the Mirror has found tickets bought on the day in April 2021 were £40.

It represents an increase of more than 31% in 24 months.

By October 2021, the standard ticket fee was £47 at the park kiosk.

The new family ticket cost for 2023, meanwhile, is £179, compared to £150 two years ago.

An annual pass is currently £165, up by £15 on 2021.

Twitter user Robyn posted a photo of the current prices and said: "Sorry Flamingo Land, but you are having an absolute laugh with these prices."

The Facebook page Theme Park Insanity also posted the snap, leading to many calling the hike a "disgrace".

The post read: "Just in case you weren't already aware, here are this year's 'on the gate' admission prices (NOT online pre-booked prices) for Flamingo Land Resort"

"We DEFINITELY recommend booking online at least ONE week in advance prior to making any visit to gain the best rate!"

Tickets booked seven days in advance cost £39 and two days before cost £45.

A Facebook user said: "Absolute disgrace. We won’t be coming, can’t see ya lasting long with them prices."

Another added: "Never mind booking online, you need a mortgage to visit."

A third said: "Bloody hell, don't know how they think ppl will be able to pay that."

Set in 375 acres of countryside, Flamingo Land Resort also features 'Yorkshire's favourite zoo' as well as the Resort Village.

Replying to a post on the resort's official Facebook page encouraging guests to visit over Easter, one commenter said: "Absolutely not!

"We used to love coming to Flamingo Land for the zoo as much as the rides, but as a family of 5 the admission prices are extortionate!"

The Mirror contacted Flamingo Land for comment but they failed to respond.
