Parafield Gardens man charged with raping client over six-month period

The man is expected to appear next in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in October. (ABC News: Tony Hill)

A man from Adelaide's northern suburbs has been charged with four counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault against a woman he was doing gardening for.

The 72-year-old Parafield Gardens man was arrested on July 1, but SA Police only publicly revealed the charges today.

Police say the man had sexually assaulted the woman over the past six months.

They say he was known to her, and was providing gardening services at her property.

Investigators want to speak to anyone who has been a victim of similar offending.

The accused first appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on July 4, when he was remanded in custody, but he was later granted home-detention bail.

He is expected to appear in the same court again in October.

Police have urged anyone with information on this matter to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
