Paperchase issues 24 hour warning to customers looking to snap up bargains

Paperchase has issued a one day warning to all of their customers meaning shoppers will want to act fast if they like a bargain.

It comes as the major high street chain is set to close its stores including the Buchanan Street branch. Two other Glasgow stores will also see their doors shut including Silverburn and Braehead.

As a result, the shop has launched an online sale with items reaching up to 30 per cent off, reports Birmingham Live.

Despite having been rescued by Tesco after it went into administration on January 31, the deal did not include physical stores. However products will continued to be sold physically in Tesco stores.

A statement on the Paperchase website reads: "It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Paperchase.com online store will cease trading on Friday February 17 at midnight. We want to take a moment to thank you for your support and loyalty over the years.

"In the meantime, you can still shop online and get at least 30% off everything today." Tesco bought the chain's stock but not its shops or workforce as part of the takeover.

The chain said: "We want to take a moment to thank you for your support and loyalty over the years. Whether you were browsing for the latest notebook or seeking inspiration for your latest project, we are so grateful to have been a part of your journey.

"Thank you for being a part of our special journey. With love, the Paperchase team." When it was announced, Tesco's managing director of home and clothing said: "Paperchase is a well-loved brand by so many, and we're proud to bring it to Tesco stores across the UK.

"We have been building out plans to bring more brands and inspiration to the ranges we currently offer, and this will help us to take those plans further. We look forward to sharing more with our customers in due course.".

The takeover from the UK supermarket chain put 106 Paperchase high street shops and around 820 jobs at risk.
