Paolo Nutini's mum and sister 'thrilled' to see Paisley hitmaker back on stage at TRNSMT

Paolo Nutini‘s mum Linda and sister Francesca were thrilled to watch his comeback onstage at TRNSMT festival on Friday night.

The pair toured the festival prior to his comeback performance and checked out the atmosphere in front of the main stage before joining other family members who were in the audience.

The Paisley hitmaker delighted audiences on Friday night with an incredible set which included new tracks as well as old favourites like New Shoes, Candy and These Streets.

Linda and Francesca spoke exclusively to the Daily Record and told of how happy they were to see him return to the Scottish stage and make a debut at TRNSMT after his eight year hiatus.

Mum Linda said: “We can’t wait to see Paolo take to the stage again.

“He is thrilled to be here and so are we.”

Francesca added: “It’s great because all the family are here out front and we are going to join them. The atmosphere is amazing.”

Paolo was also joined backstage by his pal Lewis Capaldi who performs on Sunday and Celtic mascot and ambassador Jay Beatty who both arrived shortly after 7pm on Friday night.

The singer was on fire as he took to the stage at Glasgow Green and his management were also happy to see him return to the field.

The occasion was made even more special by Paolo’s album Last Night In The Bittersweet reaching number one in the official album charts this week.

TRNSMT continues today and fans will be treated to a set by main support Foals before New York rockers The Strokes headline day two.
