Paolo Nutini fans fume as Edinburgh date sells out 'in seconds' with ticket touts looming

Paolo Nutini fans are fuming after his UK and European tour sold out 'in seconds' on Wednesday morning, with both the Edinburgh and Aberdeen dates showing zero tickets on the website.

The 'Pencil Full of Lead' singer announced his brand new album, titled 'Last Night in the Bittersweet', alongside a tour of the UK and Europe - with a date at Edinburgh's O2 Academy.

However, when avid listeners logged onto Ticketmaster on Wednesday morning, the tickets were already few and far between, with the 'sold out' sign on the website by approximately 9:02am - tickets went on sale at 9am!

Fans flocked to social media to complain about the ticket touts and lack of general sale tickets on the website, with one Twitter user writing: "How on earth are Paolo Nutini tickets sold out in like a second? I’ve been on Ticketmaster since 8."

Another said: "What on earth is going on with @PaoloNutini tickets ? I’m at 9am and ‘we could not find the tickets you searched for’ ? Sort it out ! #Ticketmaster"

And a third wrote: "Got in at 9 on the dot and was already sold out."

More comments read: "No tickets at 9am. All bought up by bots and on secondary sale ticket sites for £160+ per ticket by 9:03", and "Didn’t want Paolo Nutini tickets anyway.."

Another Twitter user added: "Serious question, in 2022 why doesn't ticketmaster use some form of captcha to allow humans to buy the tickets? Never been so raging."

However, some people have been logging back onto Ticketmaster later on and grabbing tickets, with one Twitter user writing: "Yass! Finally got tickets for Paolo Nutini in Edinburgh. HWG!"

Another said: "Eventually got through the captcha and got some Paolo tickets!"

And a third added: "Who said it was hard to get Paolo tickets? Easy peasy..."

Paolo's new album, Last Night in the Bittersweet, will be released on Friday, July 1, and his tour will begin in Limerick, Ireland on Sunday, August 21.
