During his pre-draft media availability, Duke forward Paolo Banchero said that he’d love to be drafted by any of the three top teams in the 2022 NBA draft in the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.
“I’ll be blessed to hear my name called by any of the top three,” said Banchero.
Banchero was not asked if he worked out with the Thunder during his 15-minute presser, so it’s unknown whether he has met with the team yet or not — but considering the fact that Jabari Smith Jr. and Chet Holmgren have met with the team, it’s safe to assume Banchero has too.
The 2022 NBA draft is scheduled on June 23, with the consensus being Banchero will be a Rocket at No. 3.
