Pantone's Color of the Year 2024 has been revealed – the 'subtly sensual' shade is a celebration of 'tactility and cocooned warmth'

Pantone's Color of the Year 2024, Peach Fuzz.

The time has come, Pantone, the world’s color authority, has introduced to the world their Color of the Year 2024 – and it's fair to say, here at Homes & Gardens, we're already obsessed.

The launch of Peach Fuzz tells us that it's time to get cozy and comfortable for 2024 color trends. The release marks the 25th anniversary of the truly iconic Pantone Color of the Year program, with this year's color launch focusing on 'our need for nurturing, empathy and compassion.'

Soft, calming and comforting, yet wonderfully invigorating at the same time, Peach Fuzz is described as, 'a warm and cozy shade highlighting our desire for togetherness with others, and the feeling of the sanctuary this creates. Subtly sensual it is a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of tenderness, and communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration.'

'A cozy peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz brings belonging, inspires recalibration, and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from whether spending time with others or taking the time to enjoy a moment by ourselves,' says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director, Pantone Color Institute.

She continued, 'Drawing comfort from PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, we can find peace from within, impacting our wellbeing. An idea as much as a feeling, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz awakens our senses to the comforting presence of tactility and cocooned warmth.'

The sophisticated peach can create a warm and welcoming embrace when used for room color ideas in the home and sits between a soothing, pretty pink and earthy terracotta.

Over the last few years, we've seen a revolution in decorating with neutrals in interior design, for paint trends and more, with classic shades such as white and gray being replaced by warmer color schemes that have more depth, and that make our spaces feel more inviting, colorful and characterful. The launch of Peach Fuzz perfectly embodies the transition of embracing a more warming, modern palette of 'new neutrals' in the home; 'Peach Fuzz presents a fresh approach to a new softness.'

What we love most about the color is how its comforting yet energizing qualities allow for it to seamlessly integrate into interior spaces both minimalist and maximalist. From creating a bright and bold look for paint ideas (Farrow & Ball's Dutch Pink is the perfect warm-toned peach), to using it as an accent color across fabrics and soft furnishings, Peach Fuzz is perfect for uplifting a room with a cozy, warming and inviting feel.

For this year's launch, Pantone has a collection of official brand partners who have designed exclusive Peach Fuzz product collections. Explore our favorite collaborations below to bring the beauty of this color into your home.
