Following the early afternoon additions of defensive lineman Chris Wormley and cornerback Dicaprio Bootle, the Carolina Panthers had one spot left to fill on their practice squad. So, they filled it with a pretty familiar face.
As reported by Darin Gantt of Panthers.com, the team has brought back linebacker Deion Jones to be the 16th member of the group. Jones, who first signed with Carolina on July 31, was released as part of the cutdown to the initial 53-man roster.

Over his six years in Atlanta, Jones notched 652 combined tackles, 11.0 sacks and 11 interceptions. He would then traded to the Cleveland Browns for a 2024 sixth-round pick last October and appeared in 11 games during the 2022 campaign.
One of the more surprising cuts of the summer by the Panthers, Jones chalked up five tackles in three preseason outings.
