Panthers reportedly working out D.J. Fluker on Tuesday

Well, it seems as though Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper really does want to make sure his No. 1 overall pick is protected to finish out the season.

According to Bleacher Report NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Panthers are set to work out offensive lineman D.J. Fluker on Tuesday.

Like his potential future teammate in quarterback Bryce Young, Fluker was a standout performer for the University of Alabama. The New Orleans, La. native was a three-time BCS national champion and a member of the First-team All-American and First-team All-SEC squads in 2012.

Fluker would go on to be selected with the 11th overall pick of the 2013 NFL draft by the then San Diego Chargers. He spent four seasons in San Diego, recording 59 starts over his 59 games between right tackle and right guard.

His next four campaigns would be split between three organizations—the New York Giants in 2017, the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 and 2019 and the Baltimore Ravens in 2020. He last played on Jan. 3, 2021.
