Panthers reportedly trading WR Diontae Johnson to Ravens

The Carolina Panthers might’ve just found a new home for wideout Diontae Johnson.

According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Panthers are trading the sixth-year receiver to the Baltimore Ravens. The exchange, per Schefter, will involve a pick swap—with Carolina receiving a 2025 fifth-round selection and Baltimore a 2025 sixth.

Johnson was acquired by the Panthers in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers this past offseason. That deal featured cornerback Donte Jackson as well as another pick swap—as Carolina took in the 240th overall selection of the 2024 draft for the 178th.

The 28-year-old pass catcher and one-time Pro Bowler now departs Charlotte after just seven games. He is currently the team’s leader in targets (58), receptions (30), receiving yards (357) and receiving touchdowns (three).

Carolina held Johnson out of this past Sunday’s 28-14 loss to the Denver Broncos due to a rib injury, a move suspected to be linked to a possible deal ahead of next week’s deadline.
