The Seattle Seahawks aren’t the only team looking for a follow-up with Ejiro Evero.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Carolina Panthers are bringing their defensive coordinator into the second stage of this year’s head-coaching search. The interview, per Pelissero, is being planned for tomorrow.
Evero, who also interviewed for the vacancy last offseason, was hired as the team’s defensive coordinator ahead of the 2023 campaign. Even while having to deal with a number of injuries to key players up and down his unit, he’d go on to orchestrate the NFL’s fourth-ranked defense—behind only the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets.
In addition to Carolina and Seattle, Evero has received some interest from the Atlanta Falcons for their head-coaching vacancy as well.
He is now the second known candidate that is reportedly getting a second interview from the Panthers, joining Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.
