The corresponding move for the addition of Taylor Stallworth has been made.
As announced on Friday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers have waived safety Myles Dorn to open up a roster spot for the team’s new defensive tackle. Stallworth’s signing was first reported by his agent Brett Tessler on Thursday.
Dorn joined the organization on a reserve/future deal back on Jan. 18. A local product, the Charlotte, N.C. native attended nearby Julius L. Chambers High School and played his college ball at the University of North Carolina from 2016 to 2019.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound defensive back broke into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in 2020. He appeared in 14 games for Minnesota between 2021 and 2022, and played exclusively on special teams this past season.
As for the new guy, Stallworth brings over 305 pounds and five years’ worth of NFL experience—two of which came under head coach Frank Reich in Indianapolis. He played seven games in 2022, chalking up eight tackles between his time with the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans.
