Ejiro Evero isn’t the only Carolina Panthers play-caller getting a big second look elsewhere.
As first reported by NFL Network national reporter Cameron Wolfe, offensive coordinator Thomas Brown is expected to meet with the Tennessee Titans in person today regarding their head-coaching vacancy. Brown, per the Titans, completed his initial interview with the organization back on Jan. 18.
The Panthers hired Brown as their offensive coordinator last offseason, but he did not begin the campaign in charge of play-calling duties. That responsibility was kept by former head coach Frank Reich, who handed the sheet over to Brown after six weeks and reclaimed them just three games later.
Following Reich’s firing to begin Week 13, Brown was given control of the offense for the remaining six games of the season. The Panthers finished with an average of 265.3 yards per game, the fewest in the NFL.
Brown has also reportedly interviewed for the Chicago Bears’ opening at offensive coordinator.
