Like it or not, the discussion about the height of Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young isn’t going away anytime soon. Young was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2023 NFL draft after the Panthers traded up to get the former Alabama star. However, the fact Young checks in at 5-foot-10 will be a problem for some pundits.
Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown was asked about it and downplayed any potential concerns and referred more than once back to how he studies the tape and not the height. Brown also noted he’s on the shorter side and you got the impression he can relate to Young.
Young’s play will be all that matters when it’s all said and done. If he can perform and help the Panthers win, no one is going to care how tall he is. But if he struggles, the conversation is going to make its way back to this concern.
